Device Market Share

Real-time device usage statistics across smartphones, tablets, desktops, and consoles

NetMarketShare tracks device market share worldwide using real human visitor data, with bots and fraudulent traffic filtered out so the numbers reflect what people are actually browsing the web on.

What is device market share?

Device market share is the percentage of web traffic generated by each category of device — or each device manufacturer or model — within a given time period. It answers two related questions: what kind of device are people using (smartphone, tablet, desktop, console), and which brands and models dominate within each category.

Device categories we track

  • Smartphones — iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, Xiaomi, Oppo, and other Android devices
  • Tablets — iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Microsoft Surface, Amazon Fire
  • Desktops & laptops — PCs running Windows, Mac, Linux, ChromeOS
  • Game consoles — PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch
  • Other connected devices — smart TVs, set-top boxes, and emerging form factors

Device manufacturers we track

  • Apple — iPhone, iPad, Mac
  • Samsung — Galaxy phones and tablets
  • Google — Pixel phones, Chromebooks, Nest
  • Microsoft — Surface, Xbox
  • Sony — PlayStation, Xperia

How is device market share measured?

NetMarketShare measures device usage from real visitor sessions across our partner network, parsing each session's user-agent and signal data to identify device category, manufacturer, and model, while filtering out bot traffic, datacenter traffic, and other non-human sources.
